Solar plant developer and operator Emeren Group Ltd has secured a seven-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Polish subsidiary of a multinational consumer goods company, whose name has not been disclosed.
The PPA is associated with a 15-MWp solar farm located in Poland’s southwest Silesia region. The facility is expected to generate approximately 14,958 MWh of electricity annually, which will contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 16,150 metric tonnes each year.
In addition to its environmental benefits, the solar power plant is projected to generate significant local revenue. Emeren anticipates the facility will contribute around PLN 90,000 (USD 22,000/EUR 21,000) annually in property taxes and PLN 167,000 in land taxes. These funds will be allocated towards local infrastructure improvements and community development initiatives, further benefiting the region.
Emerenโs move underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Europe while supporting Polandโs renewable energy goals.
