EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge Inc. announced that the Amazon Solar Farm Ohio – Fox Squirrel Solar project became fully operational in December 2024. All three phases are now delivering electricity to the PJM grid. With a total capacity of 577 MWac/749 MWdc, Fox Squirrel Solar is one of the largest utility-scale solar projects located east of the Mississippi River.

Developed by EDF Renewables and owned in partnership with Enbridge, Fox Squirrel Solar will meet the increasing energy demands of central Ohio. Situated in Madison County, the project features 1.4 million solar panels and 159 inverters, making it the largest onshore renewable energy project developed by EDF Renewables North America. At the peak of construction, around 650 workers were on-site, installing about 10,000 panels daily, contributing to nearly 1.5 million work hours.

The entire power generation capacity will be supplied to Amazon through power purchase agreements, supporting Amazonโ€™s commitment to its Climate Pledge. As more companies commit to renewable energy, solar projects like Fox Squirrel will play a key role in helping Ohio attract more businesses and boost the state’s economic growth.
