Altus Power, the leading provider of clean energy for commercial-scale projects, has completed a 1.7 MW rooftop solar installation at 700 Crocker Drive in Vacaville, CA. This distribution center, spanning 839,000 square feet, will use solar power to cover nearly 80% of its yearly energy needs at a reduced cost. The project, part of Californiaโ€™s Net Energy Metering 2.0 program, will also help cut emissions by 1,000 metric tons of CO2 each year, totaling 35,000 metric tons over its lifetime.

Brett Phillips, Altus Powerโ€™s Director of Western US, said โ€œProjects like this showcase the dual benefits of commercial-scale solar. The project will deliver clean energy over its 35-year useful life to the facility while also reducing operating costs for users and increasing asset value for the property owner. Weโ€™re proud to support the facilityโ€™s sustainability goals and promote the value of renewable energy across the state of California.โ€

The project will bring major advantages to the building owner, such as new rental income and reduced energy costs. This initiative expands Altus Powerโ€™s solar assets in California, adding to its existing 120 MWs across the state. Altus Power operates in 25 states, supporting businesses that are dedicated to reducing their carbon footprint. As a comprehensive solar provider, Altus Power focuses on long-term ownership and delivers clean energy close to where itโ€™s used, helping to reduce the demand for additional transmission infrastructure.
