His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance of the UAE, inaugurated the second phase of the Green Data Centre of Data Hub Integrated Solutions (Moro Hub), a subsidiary of Digital DEWA. The facility, located at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, further reinforces Dubaiโs commitment to sustainability and digital transformation.
The first phase of the Green Data Centre, launched in 2023 by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, holds the Guinness World Record as the worldโs largest solar-powered data centre.
A Model of Sustainable Innovation
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum toured the facility and received a detailed briefing from His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA. The second phase introduces advanced solutions in digital transformation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, smart cities, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
HE Al Tayer emphasized that the centre is a testament to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubaiโs aspirations to become a global hub for sustainability and digital innovation. “This milestone supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to achieve 100% clean energy production by 2050,” Al Tayer noted.
Key Features of the Green Data Centre
- Renewable Energy Integration: Fully powered by solar energy, the facility has a planned capacity of 100 megawatts across 10 phases, spanning 100,000 square meters.
- Global Recognition: The data centre holds “Tier-III” certification from the Uptime Institute and continues to set global benchmarks for energy efficiency and green technology adoption.
- Innovative Solutions: The centre provides cutting-edge services, including AI-powered systems, smart energy storage, and carbon-free computing for global hyper-scalers.

The inauguration brought together a distinguished assembly of officials, technology leaders, and global entities. Among the attendees were Lieutenant-General Awad Hader Al Muhairi, Major General Tamim Mohammed Al-Muhairi, and CEOs of leading technology firms like Microsoft, Cisco, and Dell Technologies.
These partnerships highlight the UAEโs commitment to sustainability and digital innovation, as Moro Hubโs infrastructure supports organisations in enhancing operational efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
