Scanifly, a top provider of solar design and field operations software, has partnered with Unirac, a well-known name in solar mounting and plan set creation. This new integration streamlines the design process by linking Scaniflyโs platform directly to Uniracโs plan set portal, reducing work time and eliminating the need for revisions.
With this API integration, solar contractors can automatically transfer key project dataโsuch as drone images, checklists, electrical and structural details, CAD files, and shade reportsโfrom Scanifly to Unirac. This removes the need for manual uploads and data entry, making the workflow faster and more efficient.
Jason Steinberg, CEO of Scanifly, mentioned โSolar contractors spend too much time moving data between different software tools. Our integration with Unirac fixes this by creating a direct connection between our platforms, letting contractors focus on installation accuracy instead of exporting and reuploading data.โ
Zachary Penner, Technical Director of Design and Engineering at Solar Negotiators, stated โThe Scanifly + Unirac partnership has greatly improved the efficiency and accuracy of our plan set workflows. We saw a 30% increase in our first-time pass rate almost immediately upon activating the new integration.โ
โThe integration between Scanifly and Unirac allows us to seamlessly transition our site audit data collected in Scanifly over to Unirac, where we utilize their plan set generation. The accuracy of the drone flight is immensely helpful in ensuring that we provide a solution to our customers that fits their needs and that we can stand behind on the day of installation. Having this information automatically transferred to Unirac provides not only a quicker timeline to install, but an overall better product delivered,โ commented Brad Montgomery, Vice President of Strategy and Procurement at Empower Solar.
Sean Linn, Chief Operations Officer at Unirac, remarked, โGetting precise measurements, shading, and streamlined data transfer through Scanifly’s technology has empowered our customers with the accuracy they need without impeding their workflow.โ
Solar contractors using the integrated platforms from Scanifly and Unirac will see significant time and cost savings. Design time is reduced by 1-3 hours per project, while installation preparation is 2-4 hours faster. Additionally, design costs decrease by $20-80 per project, and the need for costly revisions is eliminated.
Scaniflyโs drone-based design technology creates precise 3D models of properties, capturing exact measurements and structural details. This data flows directly into Uniracโs U-Builder, preventing errors caused by manual data entry or outdated satellite images. By integrating with Scanifly, Unirac strengthens its technology-driven approach, making workflows more efficient and reducing soft costs for small and medium-sized installers.
As a leader in solar racking, Unirac generates over 10,000 proposals and plan sets each month, supporting installers with accuracy and efficiency. The new integration empowers solar businesses to scale without sacrificing precision by providing high-quality designs and real-time roof condition assessments. Orthorectified CAD files seamlessly fit into design templates, eliminating revision delays and speeding up project approvals.
