Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) leader Teleperformance (TP) Philippines has reinforced its commitment to sustainability, reporting that 60% of its nationwide energy consumption now comes from renewable sources. The milestone aligns with the companyโ€™s long-term environmental goals, as it continues to expand its green initiatives across the country.

Major Energy Savings and Carbon Footprint Reduction

As of September 2024, TP Philippines has successfully saved 35.8 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy, significantly cutting its carbon footprint. This reduction is equivalent to:

The emissions from 5,598 gasoline-powered vehicles driven for a year

The carbon absorption of 396,806 tree seedlings grown for a decade

The annual carbon budget of approximately 18,460 individuals

Rahul Jolly, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TP Philippines, highlighted the significance of the companyโ€™s shift to clean energy.

โ€œShifting to renewable energy is a major step toward our goal of reducing our environmental impact and building a sustainable future. Weโ€™re committed to expanding our renewable energy initiatives, believing that by working together, we can create a healthier planet for generations to come.โ€

Under this partnership, the company has contributed over US$500,000 to global tree-planting efforts. In the Philippines, TP is restoring 400 hectares in Aurora province, creating a safe habitat for the endangered Philippine Eagle while supporting local communities.
