TP Solar Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has secured a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the supply of 292.5 MWp DCR solar modules. The contract, valued at approximately ₹632 crore, is part of SECI’s larger 400 MWp tender under the CPSU Scheme Tranche-III, aimed at promoting domestic solar manufacturing. The modules will be supplied to a project site in Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh, with deliveries scheduled between October 2025 and January 2026.
The bid process involved competitive submissions and an e-Reverse Auction, where TP Solar emerged as a major winner. The contract highlights TP Solar’s manufacturing capabilities and aligns with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by encouraging local production of solar modules. The project will contribute to India’s renewable energy transition by strengthening domestic manufacturing and ensuring large-scale solar installations use high-quality, locally sourced modules.
The CPSU Scheme plays a crucial role in enhancing energy security by reducing dependence on imports and promoting indigenous solar manufacturing. Awarding the contract to TP Solar is expected to support the government’s efforts to accelerate clean energy adoption while creating economic opportunities in the solar industry. SECI officials emphasized that the project will help meet India’s renewable energy targets and promote sustainability in the sector.
The contract reaffirms TP Solar’s commitment to innovation and excellence in renewable energy solutions. With one of the largest solar manufacturing plants in the country, the company continues to contribute to India’s energy transformation through advanced technology and sustainable practices. The project is expected to not only boost local manufacturing but also enhance self-reliance in the solar sector, reinforcing India’s goal of becoming a global leader in renewable energy.
