Sharika Enterprises Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Russian engineering powerhouse Engineering Center Energoservice (ENS) to improve Indiaโs power infrastructure. The two companies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), granting Sharika Enterprises exclusive rights to market and distribute ENS’s state-of-the-art power grid protection and monitoring solutions throughout India.
ENS is renowned for its expertise in developing technologies that enhance the safety, stability, and efficiency of electrical grids. One of their flagship innovations is the transformer condition monitoring system, which utilizes synchrophasor measurements to continuously track the health of power transformers. By providing real-time data and advanced analytics, these systems help utilities minimize operational risks, predict potential failures, and prevent costly downtime.
A standout product in this collaboration is the Intelligent Digital Device (ENIP-2) and its suite of modules, which are designed to handle measurement, time synchronization, display, input-output, and communication functions. Additionally, the partnership encompasses Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS), which use synchronized Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) and real-time monitoring units (RTUs) to enhance grid stability and detect anomalies before they escalate.
Mr. Rajinder Kaul, Chairman and Managing Director of Sharika Enterprises, said in a statement, โWe are honoured to collaborate with Engineering Center Energoservice, a digital power technologies leader and this partnership is a major milestone in our quest to upgrade India’s power grid infrastructure. Together, we look forward to introducing innovative technologies in India and providing an efficient, sustainable and dependable power system benefitting the industries across the spectrum.โ
Fleyshman Igor L., General Director at Engineering Center Energoservice, also added, โWe look forward to cooperating with Sharika Enterprises, which is well-acquainted with and experienced in the Indian power sector. Sharika’s proven experience in the Indian market and familiarisation with Indian requirements makes it an optimum fit as a business partner for us. Together we aim to build a robust power grid in India and meet the country’s energy efficiency initiatives.โ
Looking ahead, Sharika Enterprises and ENS are exploring the establishment of a manufacturing plant in India. This venture could materialize through either technology transfer or the formation of a joint venture, supporting Indiaโs ‘Make in India’ initiative. Local production would not only reduce costs but also ensure wider access to these advanced digital power solutions for Indian utilities.
This partnership holds significant promise for Indiaโs energy sector, aiming to bolster grid reliability, reduce power outagesโespecially during peak summer monthsโand address the growing electricity demand amid aging infrastructure. As India moves towards energy transition and modernization, this collaboration marks a crucial step in strengthening the country’s power grids and ensuring a more resilient energy future.
