IREDA Achieves Record ₹1,699 Crore Profit In FY 2024-25, Marks 36% Growth And Sets New Benchmark In Green Financing

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has achieved a remarkable financial milestone for the financial year 2024-25, reporting its highest-ever annual profit after tax (PAT) of ₹1,699 crore. This record-setting performance marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing journey to support India’s renewable energy goals. IREDA, which is the largest pure-play green financing non-banking financial company (NBFC) in the country, has also made history by becoming the first company in the NBFC and banking sector, and the first public sector undertaking (PSU), to release its audited financial results within just 15 days of the financial year-end.

The Board of Directors met recently and approved the audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2025. This swift and transparent disclosure of results reflects IREDA’s commitment to best practices in governance and financial reporting. The results revealed strong growth across all key financial indicators, underscoring the company’s solid foundation and strategic vision.

During the fourth quarter of the financial year, the company posted a profit after tax of ₹502 crore, representing a 49% increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The profit before tax for the quarter stood at ₹630 crore, up by 31%, while the revenue from operations increased by 37% to reach ₹1,904 crore. In terms of financial strength, the company’s net worth rose to ₹10,266 crore, marking a 20% increase. The loan book also showed robust expansion, growing by 28% to ₹76,281 crore.

For the full financial year 2024-25, IREDA’s profit before tax increased by 25% to ₹2,104 crore. The revenue from operations for the year reached ₹6,742 crore, reflecting a 36% rise compared to the previous year. The loan book remained strong, with a total of ₹76,282 crore, again showing a 28% year-on-year growth. The company’s net worth remained steady at ₹10,266 crore, maintaining the 20% increase from the previous year.

Commenting on these impressive results, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, highlighted that the company’s consistent growth in revenue, profitability, and loan book demonstrates its focused strategy and commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy ambitions. He emphasized that IREDA will continue to play a crucial role in facilitating the nation’s transition to clean energy through innovative financial instruments and strong partnerships. He also praised the hard work and dedication of the IREDA team, acknowledging their significant role in reaching this milestone.

Shri Das extended his gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution, Shri Pralhad Joshi; the Hon’ble Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri Shripad Naik; Secretary of MNRE, Ms. Nidhi Khare; other senior officials from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and other ministries; and IREDA’s Board of Directors for their continued support and guidance. He expressed optimism about the future and reiterated the organization’s dedication to enabling India’s green energy transformation through sustainable financing.
