Mr. Warren has been involved in Japan’s utility-scale renewable energy sector since its early stages in 2011. Over the years, he has accumulated extensive experience in project development, construction, project financing, and customer origination, working across various schemes such as the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPA). His comprehensive knowledge of the local market and proven ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy projects position him well to lead Blueleaf Energy’s strategic initiatives in Japan.

As Country Manager, Mr. Warren will focus on expanding the company’s presence through a multi-pronged approach. His responsibilities will include scaling up greenfield project development, driving co-development partnerships, and acquiring late-stage development and operational assets. These efforts will target core sectors such as solar power, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), reflecting Blueleaf Energy’s commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition in Japan.

Raghuram Natarajan, CEO of Blueleaf Energy, said in a statement, “John’s appointment as our Japan Country Manager is a pivotal step in our growth strategy for North Asia. His proven leadership and deep understanding of the Japanese renewable energy landscape will be invaluable as we pursue expansion of our project pipeline and explore strategic M&A opportunities in this key market. We are confident that under John’s leadership, Blueleaf Energy will significantly accelerate its contribution to Japan’s clean energy transition.”
