LONGi, a globally recognized solar technology company, has entered into a significant agreement with ENGIE, a leading international energy group, to supply its advanced Hi-MO 9 solar modules for major utility-scale projects across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This partnership marks a notable step forward in the deployment of next-generation solar technologies for large-scale energy infrastructure in the region.

The collaboration emphasizes the growing importance of back contact (BC) technology in modern photovoltaic systems. LONGiโ€™s Hi-MO 9 modules are at the forefront of this innovation. With a peak power output of 670W, a notable efficiency of 24.8%, and a bifaciality of up to 80%, these modules are designed to deliver high energy performance while maintaining reliability and durability. The unique design relocates all cell electrodes to the rear of the module, which eliminates front-side shading, improves light absorption, and enhances overall energy conversion efficiency.

Additionally, the modules show improved temperature coefficient performance, allowing them to maintain stable power output under high-temperature conditions common in the MENA region. This agreement between LONGi and ENGIE highlights both companiesโ€™ shared commitment to advancing solar energy technology and supporting sustainable energy development. The Hi-MO 9 modules, with their high power density, allow for more efficient land useโ€”an important consideration for large solar installations.

Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi, stated, โ€œENGIE’s selection of Hi-MO 9 is a testament to the global energy sector’s recognition of BC technology as the ultimate frontier in solar innovation. LONGi’s collaboration with ENGIE sets a new benchmark for utility-scale solar deployments worldwide. This partnership reaffirms our commitment to delivering solutions that redefine efficiency, durability, and sustainability.โ€

โ€œFor ENGIE, this partnership with LONGi reflects our commitment to lead the global energy transition through the adoption of cutting-edge, innovative and sustainable solutions. This collaboration agreement will serve as a model for large-scale solar development in the Middle-East and North-Africa, driving progress toward a carbon-neutral future,โ€ mentioned Franรงois-Xavier BOUL, ENGIE Managing Director MENA Renewables & Batteries.

Both partners also intend to follow strict environmental standards throughout the lifecycle of the projects, reinforcing their focus on sustainability and responsible development. Through this partnership, LONGi continues to demonstrate its role as a leader in solar innovation, while ENGIE reinforces its position as a key player in the global clean energy transition. Together, they aim to drive forward the adoption of high-efficiency solar technologies in the MENA region and set new benchmarks for performance and sustainability in the solar industry.
