Gentari, the clean energy subsidiary of Malaysian oil and gas giant Petronas, has announced the integration of its commercial and industrial (C&I) platform, Amplus Solar, under the Gentari brand. The strategic move aims to unify the companyโ€™s identity and consolidate its renewable energy operations in India.

Amplus Solar, which became part of the Gentari group in 2023, has played a significant role in strengthening Gentariโ€™s distributed renewable energy footprint. The integration is expected to combine Amplus Solarโ€™s stronghold in the C&I segment with Gentariโ€™s wider focus on utility-scale renewable energy projects.

โ€œBy operating under a single brand, Gentari will be able to drive stronger alignment across teams and functions, positioning the group to deliver more cohesive and scalable clean energy solutions across both distributed and utility-scale segments,โ€ the company said in an official statement.

As part of the restructuring, Sharad Pungalia has been appointed as Gentariโ€™s Head of India. Previously the Chief Executive Officer of Amplus Solar, Pungalia has been instrumental in scaling the companyโ€™s portfolio to over 2.4 GW of operational and under-construction distributed energy assets.
