POWERCHINA made a strong impression as a key sponsor at Mali’s inaugural International Digital Innovation and Renewable Energy Expo, recently held in Bamako. The event marked a significant step in Mali’s efforts to advance its energy transition and digital innovation landscape.
At the expo, POWERCHINA’s Mali Representative Office presented the company’s technological achievements across multiple sectors, including renewable energy, water infrastructure, and mining. Its exhibition booth drew considerable attention from government officials and industry stakeholders, with flagship projects such as the Gouina and Félou hydropower stations and the Bamako International Airport terminal garnering particular interest.
A focal point of POWERCHINA’s current efforts in Mali is Phase I of the Safou Solar and Storage Power Station Project—the largest solar-plus-storage initiative under construction in the country. This project highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Mali’s energy infrastructure and supporting sustainable development.
POWERCHINA’s participation underscored its strong partnership with the Malian government and local enterprises. By showcasing its renewable energy expertise and infrastructure development capabilities, the company reaffirmed its role in accelerating Mali’s energy transition.
The expo served as a platform for multi-sectoral dialogue aimed at addressing climate change, improving energy access, and facilitating the Sahel region’s shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy solutions.
