The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden, hosted the โPioneer the Possible Thailand 2025โ event, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing clean energy and sustainable power systems.
Held at the EGAT 50th Anniversary Building in Nonthaburi, the forum brought together energy leaders from Thailand and Sweden to strengthen bilateral cooperation in green energy innovation and technology. The event was co-chaired by Mr. Thepparat Theppitak, Governor of EGAT, and H.E. Mrs. Anna Hammargren, Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, alongside representatives from leading Swedish companies and EGAT executives.
The collaboration builds on the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between EGAT and Business Sweden, focusing on developing biomass and hydrogen solutions. Key topics explored included green fuels, smart grid integration, and digital transformation in electricity generation.
โThis platform is a concrete step toward the green energy transition,โ said Ambassador Hammargren, highlighting Swedenโs leadership in sustainable fuels and its companiesโ capabilities in hydrogen, solar energy, smart grid technologies, and digital energy management systems.
Governor Thepparat emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange in driving innovation and cooperation, stating, โThis event lays the groundwork for strengthening our clean energy efforts and promoting sustainable practices between our two nations.โ
Discussions centered on three main areas:
- The role of biomass and hydrogen in reducing carbon emissions
- Smart grid development incorporating digital technologies and renewable energy
- Enhancing the efficiency of power systems through digital innovation
โPioneer the Possible Thailand 2025โ marks a milestone in the growing Thai-Swedish energy partnership and reaffirms both countriesโ dedication to advancing a low-carbon, technologically advanced, and sustainable energy future.
