Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), India’s largest private transmission and distribution company and a key part of the globally diversified Adani Group, has announced that it has secured a major inter-state transmission project in Maharashtra worth Rs 1,660 crore. This project involves setting up substations with a total capacity of 3,000 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA), along with other related transmission infrastructure. With this addition, AESL’s overall transmission network will expand to 26,696 circuit kilometers (ckm) and its transformation capacity will reach 93,236 MVA.

The company aims to complete and commission the project by January 2028. The project is being developed under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) called WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Ltd, which was officially transferred to AESL today. This transmission system will play a critical role in evacuating 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of green power generated from upcoming hydro Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) in the region. It will also help meet the increasing electricity demand in Mumbai and its surrounding areas, supporting the region’s growing energy needs.

As part of the larger Adani Group, AESL continues to play a pivotal role in expanding India’s power transmission and distribution infrastructure, contributing to the country’s push for greater clean energy integration and reliable power supply.
