Envision Energy has signed EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) agreement for a 120 MW / 240 MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage system (BESS) in Saleux, in Franceโ€™s Hauts-de-France region. The project, developed for European renewable energy producer Kallista Energy, will deploy Envision’s full suite of DC, AC, and power conversion systems to provide critical frequency regulation services on the French grid through transmission operator RTE’s reserve markets. Marking Envisionโ€™s first independent battery storage project in France, the initiative builds on its expanding footprint in Europe and underscores its commitment to supporting grid flexibility and energy transition goals.

Construction is set to begin in June 2025, with Envision Energy also committing to a 14-year long-term service agreement (LTSA), ensuring operational continuity and local engagement well beyond delivery. The project will utilize LFP battery cells supplied by AESC, a Japan-based battery innovator operating a 10 GWh Gigafactory in Douaiโ€”also in Hauts-de-Franceโ€”now in production as of June 2025. This project demonstrates strategic synergy between energy and battery tech leaders while reinforcing the regionโ€™s role as a hub for clean energy innovation.
