JSW Bags 250 MW BESS Project in Rajasthan

JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven Limited, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has signed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for a 250 MW / 500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The project will be developed under a Build, Own, and Operate model in Rajasthan. The agreement spans 12 years with a tariff of โ‚น2,24,000 per MW per month and includes viability gap funding support.

With this addition, JSW Energyโ€™s total locked-in energy storage capacity has reached 29.3 GWhโ€”comprising 2.9 GWh of BESS and 26.4 GWh of Pumped Hydro Storage.

The company remains on track to meet its ambitious target of 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, reinforcing its leadership in Indiaโ€™s clean energy transition.
