At the Solar & Storage Egypt 2025 exhibition, we caught up with Mejdi Khayati, Technical Services Manager for MEA & Central Asia at Jinko Solar, to explore the innovations driving the next generation of solar modules for utility-scale deployment. In this exclusive interview, he sheds light on the recently launched Tiger Neo 3.0 670W module, highlighting its advanced technologies and region-specific performance benefits. Khayati also shares Jinko Solarโ€™s broader regional approach, aligning cutting-edge PV solutions with Egyptโ€™s and the MEA regionโ€™s growing demand for reliable, clean energy under extreme climate conditions.

1. Jinko Solar has recently introduced the Tiger Neo 3.0 670W module. Can you walk us through the key technological advancements and the unique value this product brings to utility-scale projects in the MEA region?

Jinko Solarโ€™s Tiger Neo 3.0 670W module incorporates several cutting-edge technologies aimed at transforming utility-scale solar deployments. It features:

  • 20 bus bar (20BB) Advanced Cell Technology with ACP or Max (Advanced Current Passivation) structure,
  • Module efficiency of 24.8%, which is among the highest available,
  • A power class of 670W, providing substantial output for utility-scale systems,
  • High bifaciality factor up to 90%, improving energy harvest from the rear side,
  • Improved temperature coefficient, making it highly suitable for hot climates typical of the MEA region,
  • Superior bill of materials (BOM) for long-term durability and performance.

These features collectively enable project developers and investors to achieve the lowest Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), a critical metric for utility-scale solar economics. The Tiger Neo 3.0 module is not just high in power but engineered for reliability, especially under harsh environmental conditions such as high humidity and elevated temperatures.

2. Could you share some insights on Jinko Solarโ€™s latest PV project developments in Egypt and how these initiatives align with the countryโ€™s growing demand for clean energy?

While this specific video segment does not directly reference project-level details in Egypt, it emphasizes Jinko Solar’s broader commitment to the Middle East and Africa region, including Egypt, through:

  • Delivery of over 94 GW globally as of 2024,
  • A dedicated focus on qualityโ€”not just in cell technology like TOPCon, but also in materials and performance validation,
  • Third-party testing by laboratories such as PVL and AETC to confirm superior performance in challenging environmentsโ€”conditions that align closely with Egyptโ€™s climate.
