Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), a leader in energy sector training, has inaugurated a Green Energy Skill Centre in Rohini, New Delhi. The centre aims to build a future-ready workforce equipped with skills in renewable technologies, offering hands-on training in Solar PV systems (installation, commissioning, and O&M), energy storage, pumped hydro storage, and electrical safety. Aligned with national priorities such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and MNRE’s skilling framework, TPSDI integrates National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) standards and NCVET-approved Qualification Packs. As a dual-awarding body under NCVET, TPSDI positions itself at the forefront of India’s clean energy transition, bridging skill gaps through industry-relevant programs.
With over 200 modular courses across green energy, power systems, safety, and soft skills, TPSDI has trained more than 3.43 lakh individuals over the past decade—impacting over 50,000 from affirmative action groups and 18,000 women. It operates six major training hubs and five satellite centres, with the Rohini Centre becoming the 12th in its growing national network. Housed within the Cenpeid campus of Tata Power-DDL, this new hub brings together two of Tata Power’s premier training arms. The launch was officiated by Mr. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, alongside officials from MNRE, NITI Aayog, NCVET, REC, and Tata Power group companies.
