NTPC Invites Bids For 300 MW Solar BOS Package In Rajasthan

NTPC Limited has issued a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for the development of a balance of system (BOS) package for a 300 MW solar photovoltaic project in Rajasthan. The NIT was released on July 29, 2025, through the NTPC eProcurement Portal. This package is part of the larger effort to promote renewable energy development and is under the domestic competitive bidding process.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the BOS package. This includes all associated civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical works, excluding the supply of solar PV modules. The project aims to ensure quality infrastructure and timely completion while adhering to the required safety and environmental standards.

The bidding documents are available online, and interested bidders can download the documents from the NTPC eProcurement Portal. The last date for receipt of completed bids is August 22, 2025, up to 3:00 PM. The techno-commercial bid will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM. The bids must be submitted online only, and hard copies will not be accepted.

To participate in the bidding process, interested parties must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹2,00,00,000 (two crore rupees). This amount is to be paid in the form of a bank guarantee or through online transfer, as per the instructions mentioned in the bid documents. The EMD must remain valid for a period of 225 days from the bid opening date, with a claim period of at least 60 days beyond the validity.

The Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) required for the contract is 3% of the total contract value. This PBG must be submitted within 28 days from the date of the Letter of Award (LOA). It should remain valid for a period covering the contract duration plus 90 days.

The project site is located in Rajasthan, and all construction and commissioning activities must follow the relevant Indian and international codes and standards. The contract duration is expected to be 12 months from the date of the LOA, with an option for extension if required.

NTPC has made it clear that only Indian companies or joint ventures registered in India are eligible to participate in this tender. Bidders must also meet the technical and financial criteria as detailed in the bidding documents. The clarification deadline for any queries regarding the bid is August 12, 2025.

This tender is part of NTPC’s ongoing commitment to expand renewable energy capacity and contribute to India’s clean energy goals through large-scale solar installations.
