Arevon Energy, Inc., has achieved a key milestone in the construction of its Nighthawk Energy Storage Project in Poway, California. Once completed, the 300 MW / 1,200 MWh battery energy storage facility will have the capacity to power approximately 385,000 homes for up to four hours during peak demand periods each day.

Arevon is investing $600 million in the project, which it will own and operate. Over its lifetime, Nighthawk is expected to contribute more than $30 million in payments to local governments, supporting essential services such as schools, infrastructure, and public safety. The city of Poway alone is projected to receive around $12 million. California-based Rosendin is managing construction, with over 130 jobs expected at peak activity and a boost in local business for nearby restaurants, hotels, and retailers. “What sets the Nighthawk Energy Storage Project apart is Arevon’s years of experience and proven track record in successfully developing safe, reliable renewable energy and battery storage projects inย Californiaย and throughoutย the United Statesย as well as the project’s design, which includes added safety measures and will comprise the safest and most advanced batteries on the market today. In addition, Arevon has partnered with theย Powayย Fire Department, who is committed to protecting the community, first responders, and the facility in the unlikely event an incident occurs,” saidย Kevin Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Arevon. “Battery storage is the way of the future, and Arevon is pleased to bring this essential energy solution toย Poway, where we are committed to being a great community partner through the project’s multi-decade life.”
