NIT Calicut Invites Bids for 32 kWp On-Grid Solar Power Plant Installation In Kerala

The National Institute of Technology Calicut has invited online item rate e-tenders for the installation of a 32 kWp on-grid solar power plant at the NITC Pump House. The tender was published on 4th August 2025 at 5:00 PM. Interested bidders can start submitting their bids at the same time. The last date to download the tender document and to submit the bid is 25th August 2025 by 6:00 PM. The bids will be opened on 27th August 2025 at 10:00 AM.

The estimated project cost (PAC) is ₹20,00,000, inclusive of GST. The time allotted for the completion of the work is 150 days from the date of commencement. The project will have a defect liability period of one year after completion. The work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the solar power plant system.

An Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹40,000 must be submitted by the bidders. After award of the contract, the EMD will be refunded upon submission of a Performance Guarantee.

The Performance Guarantee (PG) or Security Deposit required is 5% of the contract value. This amount must be submitted within 7 days of the award of the contract, either by Fixed Deposit Receipt, Bank Guarantee, or UPI (to sd3926.901@sbi with Tender ID in the remarks). Failure to submit the PG within the specified time will result in forfeiture of the EMD, and the contractor may be blacklisted for three years. The EMD will be refunded once the PG is submitted.

The contractor must sign the agreement within 14 days of intimation and begin the work within 10 days from the date of the work order. Delays will attract liquidated damages at the rate of 2% per month of delay, calculated on a per-day basis, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value. If the delay exceeds 200 days, the institute reserves the right to terminate the contract.

The scope of the work includes site survey, system design, supply of materials including solar PV modules, micro-inverters, mounting structures, AC/DC distribution boards, cables, earthing systems, and net meters. It also includes installation, integration with the KSEB grid, and online monitoring system setup. Statutory approvals from KSEB and other relevant authorities must be arranged by the contractor. A 5-year comprehensive warranty and one year of operation and maintenance support are also required.

All the work must comply with IS standards, CPWD specifications, and local electrical safety norms. The contractor must also carry adequate insurance, comply with ESIC and Provident Fund regulations, and bear the costs of safety and risk management throughout the project.
