MNRE Reports 187.87 GW of Installed Renewable Capacity as of July 2025

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released its latest statistical update, highlighting Indiaโ€™s growing clean energy capacity. As of 31 July 2025, the countryโ€™s renewable energy installations have reached 187.87 GW, underscoring steady progress in the transition toward sustainable power.

According to MNRE data, solar power leads the segment with 119.02 GW, followed by wind power at 52.14 GW, bio-energy at 11.60 GW, and small hydro at 5.11 GW.

In addition, Indiaโ€™s total installed capacity from non-fossil fuel sources now stands at 500.31 GW, reflecting the nationโ€™s commitment to a diversified energy mix.

The ministry emphasized that this growth demonstrates Indiaโ€™s continued momentum in harnessing solar, wind, water, and bio-resources, positioning the country as a global clean energy leader with a strong pipeline of projects under development.
