The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has officially announced the Invitation for Bids No. EGAT 2/2568-SNR-PV3 for the Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3, opening opportunities for qualified contractors to participate in the landmark renewable energy initiative.
The bidding documents will be available for purchase between August 25, 2025, and September 26, 2025. Interested parties are required to make payments via bank transfer or telegraphic transfer to EGAT’s designated account at Krung Thai Bank. The documents can be obtained after submitting proof of payment and a completed request form to EGAT’s procurement department.
In compliance with Thailand’s Engineer Act B.E. 2542, EGAT has reminded that contractors who are juristic persons must hold a valid license to practice in the controlled engineering profession, issued by the Council of Engineers Thailand. For joint ventures, the joint entity must obtain the license, while in consortia arrangements, only the member responsible for design or construction supervision is required to hold the license.
EGAT has further emphasized adherence to the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), which came into full effect on June 1, 2022. Bidders are instructed to redact sensitive personal information—including data related to race, religion, political beliefs, health, or biometric identifiers—before submitting documents.
The bidding documents are priced at THB 30,000 or USD 1,000, with all bank charges borne by the bidder. Upon verification of payment, EGAT will provide access to download the official documents within approximately three working days.
For inquiries related to engineering licenses, bidders are advised to contact the Council of Engineers Thailand.
This floating solar project is part of EGAT’s broader strategy to expand renewable energy capacity, with Srinagarind Dam serving as a key site for hybrid hydro-solar power generation in Thailand.
