SAEL Industries Ltd., an integrated renewable energy company, has announced the successful commissioning of its first solar power project in Rajasthan through its subsidiary, Sunfree Energy RJP1 Pvt. Ltd. The project, located in the Jalore district, has a capacity of 200 MW (AC) and 298 MW (DC) and is spread across more than 1,000 acres of land. For this project, SAEL signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd. (RUVITL) on 20 February 2024, at a tariff of ₹2.61 per kWh.
The project was commissioned on 17 August 2025, ahead of its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date, which will allow early transmission and additional power supply within the state. The solar plant is equipped with advanced TOPCon Solar PV modules that include 146-cell and 156-cell configurations. These modules are capable of delivering peak outputs of up to 635 WP with efficiency levels reaching 22.95 percent.
Mr. Laxit Awla, Director, SAEL Industries Ltd., said in a statement, “Rajasthan has always been significant to India’s renewable journey, and our solar project at Jalore strengthens that legacy. We are proud to complete the project ahead of the contracted timeline. We thank the Government of Rajasthan and other agencies who supported us in getting timely approvals and resolving on-ground execution challenges seamlessly.”
He also added, “The project holds importance for us because it is the largest solar power project developed by SAEL that is connected to a State Transmission Utility. Over 80% of the solar modules installed at the solar plant are sourced from SAEL’s solar module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. Our focus is on creating solutions and empowering energy independence and sustainability in the energy space.”
The strategic location of the Jalore project ensures reliable transmission connectivity and smooth grid integration while also helping to reduce transmission losses. This development marks a significant milestone for SAEL Industries Ltd. as it strengthens its presence in the renewable energy sector and contributes to Rajasthan’s growing solar power capacity.
