The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has successfully concluded its 11th Green Ammonia auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A), marking another milestone in the country’s push towards clean energy adoption.

A tariff of ₹64.74 per kg was discovered for the supply of 20,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green ammonia to Indorama India Pvt. Ltd. (IIPL) in Haldia, West Bengal. M/s Acme Cleantech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. emerged as the successful bidder in the auction.

Industry observers note that August has been a defining month for India’s green hydrogen and ammonia initiatives, with multiple auctions across geographies resulting in diverse price discoveries. These auctions have highlighted both regional variations in cost dynamics and the growing commitment of stakeholders to adopt green molecules.

The SECI-led programme aims to conduct a total of 13 auctions, with each phase contributing to a clearer picture of India’s emerging green ammonia market. Officials emphasized that the discovered tariffs are not merely figures but reflect the country’s determination to accelerate its transition towards sustainable energy, safeguard resources, and strengthen the clean energy ecosystem.
