A new Request for Selection (RFS) has been issued for setting up a distributed cumulative capacity of 1.3 MWp rooftop solar power project in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The project is planned at the Late Shri Lakhi Ram Agrawal Memorial Medical College Building and the Late Shri Lakhi Ram Agrawal Memorial Hospital Building. It will consist of 2 units of 650 kWp (DC) each and 2 units of 500 kW (AC) each, making up the total proposed capacity. The project will be developed under the RESCO model on a net-metering basis and will be carried out through a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The RFS has been floated to invite solar power plant developers who can execute and manage the project effectively. By adopting the RESCO model, the developers will be responsible for installation, operation, and maintenance of the rooftop solar systems, while the beneficiary institutions will consume the generated electricity through the net-metering arrangement. This approach not only ensures cost savings for the medical college and hospital but also contributes to promoting clean energy adoption in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The official tender notice highlights that the post date of the RFS is August 22, 2025, and the due date for submission of bids is September 22, 2025. The status of the tender remains open, giving interested bidders sufficient time to prepare their proposals. Along with the tender notice, supporting documents and detailed requirements have also been made available for download.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of expanding rooftop solar capacity in India through innovative models like RESCO, which enable institutions and organizations to adopt renewable energy without the burden of upfront capital investment. The project at Raigarh represents another step toward achieving sustainable energy targets and supporting the clean energy transition in the country.
