Malaysian photovoltaic (PV) solutions provider Founder Group has been awarded a RM10 million (US$2.3 million) engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and commissioning contract for a 30MW large-scale solar project.
Under the contract, Founder Group will be responsible for civil and structural works, infrastructure development, installation, commissioning, testing, and grid interconnection for the solar plant. The agreement is with “prominent” Malaysian solar companies, according to the firm, although specific partners were not disclosed.
The solar plant is expected to generate approximately 60,000 MWh of clean energy annually and supply nearly 60,000 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Construction is slated to be completed by the end of 2025.
“We look forward to deepening our engagement with key partners who share our vision of supporting Malaysia’s renewable energy ambitions and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future,” said Lee Seng Chi, CEO of Founder Group.
This announcement follows a recent development in which Founder Group signed a US$220 million memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chinese polysilicon producer GCL Technology. The agreement aims to explore and implement renewable energy projects across Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
The partnership will facilitate information sharing, joint initiatives, and regular progress reviews, with both parties contributing technical expertise to support renewable energy projects.
