GoodWe, in partnership with Nabico Enterprises and Peponi Primary School, has installed a solar energy system at Kihato Primary School in Naro Moru, Laikipia County, providing clean and reliable electricity to over 250 students.
The initiative addresses longstanding challenges faced by the school, including frequent power outages, high electricity costs, and insufficient lighting, which previously forced students to leave early and limited teachersโ ability to prepare lessons after dark.
GoodWe supplied a 5 kW ES G2 inverter paired with 10 kWh of Lynx A batteries, installed by Nabico Enterprises, ensuring uninterrupted power throughout the day and night. The system now powers classrooms, enhances security, and supports teaching and learning activities.
โThe positive impact of this solar system has been immediate and visible. For the first time, teachers can dedicate more time to lesson planning, students can extend their study hours, and the school community feels a renewed sense of safety and hope,โ said Mr. Ephantus Wahome, Head Teacher at Kihato Primary School.
This project reflects GoodWeโs commitment to supporting African communities with sustainable solar solutions. By combining advanced inverter technology with energy storage, the company contributes to social development while promoting renewable energy adoption. The initiative also aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
