Greencells has signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract with LEAG for the Bohrau Solar Project, setting a new milestone in Greencells’ German portfolio. The project will have a capacity of 133 MWp, and with planned future extensions, Bohrau is expected to become one of the largest solar projects in Germany. Located in the Lausitz region of Brandenburg, an area historically shaped by open-cast coal mining, the project exemplifies the region’s transition from conventional to renewable energy. The site will also include flowering strips, woodland structures, and wildlife corridors to support biodiversity.
LEAG, one of Germany’s largest energy producers, is realigning its portfolio toward environmentally friendly energy solutions, focusing on renewables, battery storage, and hydrogen-compatible backup power plants. Bohrau follows the successful collaboration on the Haidemühl project and represents the second joint project between Greencells and LEAG, highlighting LEAG’s confidence in Greencells as a reliable EPC partner.
Construction of the Bohrau Solar Project is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion expected in the second half of 2026. This project adds another significant milestone to Greencells’ German track record, which now includes nearly 600 MWp of installed capacity across more than 50 completed projects. Greencells expressed gratitude to LEAG for their continued trust and looks forward to delivering this landmark project together.
