B.Grimm, one of Thailand’s oldest and most diversified conglomerates, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siam Piwat Group, the developer behind Bangkok’s landmark destinations including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, and ICONSIAM. The collaboration aims to accelerate the nation’s shift toward renewable energy, enhance energy efficiency through digital innovation, and promote environmental and cultural sustainability.
Under the MoU, both organizations will jointly pursue several initiatives, including the installation of a solar rooftop system at Siam Paragon, integration of digital technology for energy management, biodiversity conservation projects, and holistic wellness programs inspired by Bhutan’s concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH). The partnership will also extend to supporting arts and culture through the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (RBSO).
Dr. Harald Link, Chairman of B.Grimm, emphasized the company’s continued commitment to advancing Thailand’s development through sustainable and compassionate business practices. “As a leader in renewable and clean energy technology, B.Grimm is delighted to support Siam Piwat’s properties, which are dedicated to delivering extraordinary experiences and happiness to visitors from around the world,” he said. “This partnership reflects our philosophy of doing business with compassion in harmony with nature.”
Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat Group, highlighted that the collaboration sets a new benchmark for sustainable business in Thailand. “This partnership with B.Grimm marks another significant step in our journey to create sustainable destinations that integrate innovation and clean energy management. Siam Piwat aims to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and this collaboration will accelerate our transition to renewable energy,” she stated.
As part of the agreement, Siam Paragon has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, to develop a solar rooftop project spanning over 4,600 square meters. The installation, with a total capacity of 793 kilowatt-peak (kWp), is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 532 tons annually. The system will power Paragon Hall and a newly developed zone within Siam Paragon, scheduled to open in late 2025, positioning the complex as a model for sustainable urban destinations.
The project builds upon the successful implementation of a solar rooftop at ICONSIAM and aligns with Siam Piwat Group’s target to source 100% renewable energy for all its shopping centers by 2030.
Siam Piwat’s sustainability framework extends across its entire portfolio, encompassing Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM, ICS, and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok. Through these efforts, the company aims to connect people, society, and the environment to foster positive change, guided by its core strategy of creating shared value for all stakeholders.
