Entergy Arkansas announced it will supply power for Google’s planned $4 billion investment in cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, including the company’s first data center in the state, to be built in West Memphis.

As part of the initiative, Google also launched a $25 million Energy Impact Fund to support energy affordability in Crittenden County and nearby communities. The fund will focus on home weatherization, advanced energy efficiency technologies, and workforce development, underscoring Google’s commitment to being a long-term community partner. Google will cover the full cost of powering its facility, which is expected to generate more than $1.1 billion in net benefits over the life of the contract and help lower electricity rates for all Entergy Arkansas customers through the shared economies of scale of the grid.

The West Memphis data center will be powered by Entergy Arkansas’s diverse generation portfolio and transmission network, strengthened by a new 600-megawatt solar facility paired with 350 megawatts of battery storage in Jefferson County. Google will pay rates that cover the cost of this new resource. Entergy Arkansas has filed the project for approval with the Arkansas Public Service Commission, noting it will enhance grid reliability, improve resiliency, and maintain affordability for all customers. “We’re proud to be partnering with Google to bring unprecedented economic opportunity to Arkansas. Google’s $4 billion investment in its new facility, its $25 million Energy Impact Fund, and its investment in the future of our students demonstrates what lasting community impacts aimed a project of this magnitude can have,” said Entergy Arkansas President and CEO Laura Landreaux. “Entergy Arkansas is committed to powering growth and building a stronger, more vibrant future for the next generation and has found a partner in Google who shares this same vision.”
