NTPC and Government of Gujarat Ink MoU for Renewable Energy projects

NTPC Limited and the Government of Gujarat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 9, 2025, during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Mehsana. The MoU seeks to explore collaboration opportunities across both conventional and non-conventional energy sectors.

The exchange took place in the presence of Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Honโ€™ble Chief Minister of Gujarat; Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Cabinet Minister for New & Renewable Energy; Shri Kanubhai Desai, Honโ€™ble Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat; Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC; and other senior officials.

As Indiaโ€™s largest integrated power utility, NTPC currently contributes about one-fourth of the nationโ€™s total power generation. The company has an installed capacity exceeding 83 GW, with 30.9 GW under constructionโ€”including 13.3 GW of renewable energy projects. NTPC aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, supporting Indiaโ€™s commitment to its Net Zero targets.
