The Guayepo III Photovoltaic Project in Colombia, constructed by POWERCHINA, achieved full grid connection on October 7, six days ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone for the company’s operations in the Americas. This accomplishment reflects POWERCHINA’s ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. Since entering the electromechanical installation phase at the beginning of this year, the project team faced considerable challenges, including two consecutive rainy seasons that made construction conditions complex and unpredictable.

Despite these difficulties, the team maintained steady progress through meticulous planning, close coordination, and scientific management practices. To ensure smooth execution, the project adopted a “self-operation + subcontracting” coordinated model. This approach allowed POWERCHINA to strengthen its control over planning, resource allocation, and process management, leading to more efficient construction and improved project oversight. The team’s efforts to refine scheduling and optimize resources helped minimize delays and ensure timely completion.

Quality management remained a top priority throughout the project. The team implemented strict inspection and monitoring systems, continuously reviewed progress, and established a standardized quality control mechanism to identify and rectify issues promptly. This closed-loop management process helped maintain construction quality and contributed to achieving grid connection ahead of schedule.

Once operational, the Guayepo III Project is expected to generate approximately 183 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, meeting local energy needs and supporting Colombia’s broader goals for energy transition and carbon emissions reduction. The early completion of the project demonstrates POWERCHINA’s strong project management capabilities and commitment to excellence in renewable energy development across the Americas. It also serves as an important reference for the company’s future solar and infrastructure projects in the region.
