Shree Cement Commissions India’s First Solar-Powered RMC Plant in Jaipur

Bangur Concrete, a brand under Shree Cement Ltd., has commissioned India’s first solar-powered Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, marking a major advancement in sustainable construction technology. The plant became operational on solar energy following the installation of a solar net metering system on October 17, 2025.

The facility is designed to run primarily on renewable energy, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to Shree Cement’s long-term carbon reduction goals. This initiative highlights the company’s commitment to integrating clean energy solutions and environmentally responsible practices across its manufacturing operations.

Commenting on the milestone, Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director of Shree Cement Ltd., said, “The commissioning of India’s first solar-powered RMC plant under the Bangur Concrete brand reflects our commitment to sustainable innovation and our vision to lead the industry toward carbon-neutral construction.”

Bangur Concrete currently operates 24 RMC plants across India, featuring advanced batching systems, precision quality control and environmentally compliant operations. The newly solar-powered facility is expected to serve as a benchmark for the construction sector as India accelerates its transition to low-carbon infrastructure.
