NVVN Issues Tender for 1 MW Solar Project at GAIL’s Ajmer Facility in Rajasthan

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) has floated a tender inviting bids for the development of a 1 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar power project at the premises of GAIL (India) Ltd in Ajmer, Rajasthan.

Bid Participation & Deadlines

  • Participation is restricted to contractors empanelled with NVVN.
  • Bid submission closes on 24 November 2025, and technical bids will be opened on 25 November 2025.
  • Bidders must furnish an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10 lakh.
  • The selected bidder will be required to submit a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amounting to 10% of the contract value.

Project Scope

The tender covers turnkey responsibilities including:

  • Design, engineering, procurement, civil works, installation, testing, commissioning, and
  • Five-year operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar project.

The project must be commissioned within 180 days from the date of issuance of the Letter of Intent (LoI).

Penalty Clauses

  • For any delay in commissioning, a liquidated damage of 0.5% per day divided by seven of the uncommissioned contract value will apply, capped at 5% of the total contract price (excluding O&M).
  • In case of shortfall in performance ratio or annual capacity utilization factor (CUF), a penalty of ₹5 per kWh will be imposed.
  • During the O&M period, bidders must provide a separate security deposit calculated as 0.1 × G × R, where G is the annual generation at rated CUF and R is ₹5/kWh.

This tender follows NVVN’s ongoing efforts to scale renewable infrastructure across government and industrial establishments.

The initiative supports India’s target of accelerating industrial decarbonisation and clean energy adoption, with GAIL and NVVN collaborating to create scalable renewable energy models.
