Nippon Benex Co., Ltd., headquartered in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, has successfully installed and commenced operations of the โBenex Hisayama Solar Port,โ a rooftop solar power plant with a total capacity of approximately 3.7 MW. The plant is situated on the roof of the logistics facility โYKW Hisayama Kuhara,โ developed by Yoshida Kaiun Logistics Solutions Co., Ltd. in Hisayama Town, Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture. This project marks the first collaboration between Nippon Benex and the Yoshida Kaiun Group.
The Benex Hisayama Solar Port consists of two operational models: an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and a full Feed-in Premium (FIP) power sale. Of the total capacity, approximately 0.5 MW is generated under the on-site PPA, while around 3.1 MW is produced under the full FIP model. Together, they achieve a combined capacity of approximately 3.7 MW. The annual power generation from the full FIP segment alone is expected to reach about 3.47 million kWh, sufficient to meet the energy needs of approximately 1,155 average households. The facility stands out as one of the largest rooftop solar power generation systems in the Kyushu region.
With the commissioning of this plant, Nippon Benex now operates a total of 52 power plants across Japan, with a combined output of around 70.2 MW. Of these, 35 are rooftop solar power plants installed on logistics facilities, contributing approximately 61.3 MW, and 27 are FIP solar power plants, accounting for about 49.3 MW. Through initiatives like the Benex Hisayama Solar Port, Nippon Benex continues to strengthen its commitment to expanding renewable energy deployment in Japan by developing and operating efficient, sustainable solar power plants that contribute to a cleaner energy future.
