Ascent Solar Technologies, a leading U.S. innovator in lightweight, flexible thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solutions, has announced a strategic teaming agreement with NovaSpark Energy, a pioneer in mobile hydrogen generation systems. The collaboration brings together Ascentโs advanced thin-film solar technology with NovaSparkโs mobile hydrogen systems to deliver flexible and rapid-deployment power solutions for a variety of applications, including defense and critical infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Ascentโs featherweight PV panels will be integrated with NovaSparkโs mobile hydrogen generation systems, enabling customers to airdrop the equipment into battlefield environments or disaster zones. This integrated solution is designed to power a range of terrestrial applications, from long-range drones to other military devices, serving the needs of the U.S. Army, Marines, Navy, and other national security stakeholders.
Paul Warley, CEO of Ascent Solar Technologies, highlighted the broad applicability of the partnership, stating that the companyโs lightweight, durable, and reliable solar technology can now be deployed across land, sea, air, and space. He emphasized that the defense and commercial sectors are high-growth markets for emerging technologies, and Ascentโs solution is already proven for scalable production and rapid deployment to meet these demands.
Rick Harlow, CEO of NovaSpark Energy, noted that Ascentโs thin-film solar technology makes NovaSparkโs mobile hydrogen systems nimble, air-droppable, and easy to deploy wherever needed. This capability ensures that defense providers can deliver clean and reliable power to the frontlines with minimal effort while also supporting rapid deployment for disaster recovery and mobile hydrogen production across commercial and critical infrastructure applications.
The partnership between Ascent Solar Technologies and NovaSpark Energy represents a significant step toward providing advanced, portable, and sustainable energy solutions for challenging environments, combining cutting-edge solar PV and hydrogen generation technologies to meet both military and civilian energy needs.
