Global Investors Reaffirm Confidence in India’s Energy Future, Says Union Minister Manohar Lal

Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, held a high-level meeting with members of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and leading global business representatives in New Delhi, reaffirming India’s growing stature as a preferred investment destination in the global energy landscape.

During the interaction, the Minister highlighted the Government of India’s ambitious missions driving the nation’s transformation across energy transition, urban infrastructure, and digital innovation. He underscored that India’s rapid strides in power generation, renewable integration, and sustainable urbanization reflect a commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and resilience.

Shri Manohar Lal emphasized that the global investor community continues to show strong confidence in India’s energy and infrastructure sectors, backed by transparent policies and robust investment frameworks. Drawing from the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family—he reiterated India’s dedication to shared growth, responsibility, and sustainability.

The discussions focused on key areas of collaboration including:

-Affordability and scalability of green hydrogen;

-India–US cooperation in transmission and grid modernization;

-Expansion of solar module exports from India;

-US investments in energy storage and grid stability solutions; and

The USISPF delegation included John Chambers (Founder & CEO, JC2 Ventures & Chairman, USISPF), Dr. Mukesh Aghi (President & CEO, USISPF), Prabhakar Raghavan (Chief Technologist, Google), Jack P. Williams (Senior Vice-President, Exxon Mobil), and Vikram Kapur (Group President, ReNew).

Concluding the meeting, both sides acknowledged the accelerating momentum in India–US energy cooperation, underscoring a decades-long partnership centered on sustainable development and global energy security.
