Websol Energy System Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to evaluate the development of a 4 GW integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility in the state. The agreement was executed through Websol Renewables Private Limited, the companyโs wholly owned subsidiary.
The MoU was formally signed on 14 November 2025, where Managing Director Sohan Lal Agarwal represented Websol. Company representatives Sanjana Khaitan and Amrit Daga received the signed document from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu.
According to the company, the proposed 4 GW manufacturing project forms a key part of Websolโs long-term expansion roadmap. In September 2025, Websol had announced plans to build the facility in two phases, which would raise its total planned production capacity to 5.2 GW.
Mr. Agarwal said the MoU marks a major milestone in the companyโs strategy to scale its renewable-energy manufacturing footprint in India.
โThis agreement reflects our commitment to expanding operations and delivering next-generation, high-efficiency solar solutions across the country. The proposed investment will support Indiaโs clean-energy transition while creating long-term value for stakeholders,โ he stated.
With over three decades of experience in solar cell manufacturing, Websol aims to strengthen its contribution to Indiaโs renewable-energy goals through innovation, capacity expansion, and sustainable growth.
