MEHRU Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Pvt. Ltd., a material subsidiary of Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd. (QPEEL), has won its largest-ever single order valued at approximately ₹26 crore for the supply of 400kV and 220kV oil-cooled current transformers. The order, placed by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., strengthens MEHRU’s leadership in the high-voltage instrument transformer segment crucial for India’s fast-expanding renewable energy ecosystem.
As India accelerates the integration of large-scale solar and wind capacity into the national grid, the demand for advanced transmission infrastructure is rising. The new transformers will support high-voltage substation operations that enable renewable energy evacuation from generation zones to consumption centers.
Sanjog Mhatre, Chief Business Officer at QPEEL, said the contract marks a key milestone for the group. “With increasing investments in transmission capacity and renewable energy integration, we anticipate sustained opportunities across high-voltage components, including transformers, reactors, and power quality systems.”
The project will be executed over 12 months, with revenue recognition starting from Q4 FY 2025–26. MEHRU will manufacture the equipment at its Bhiwadi plant in the National Capital Region, underscoring the group’s operational readiness to handle large-scale, complex transmission orders that support India’s clean energy transition.
