Sunsure Energy has signed a long-term renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., marking a major step in the packaged water company’s shift toward clean energy. Under the agreement, Sunsure will supply solar power to Bisleri’s manufacturing unit in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, helping the facility meet 48% of its electricity requirements from renewable sources.

The clean energy transition is expected to cut Bisleri’s carbon footprint substantially, avoiding nearly 2,700 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Sunsure will provide this power from its 82.5 MWp solar plant in Erach, Uttar Pradesh, ensuring consistent green electricity for long-term operations.

Sunsure Energy CEO and Founder Shashank Sharma welcomed the partnership, noting that Bisleri joins several major FMCG companies already sourcing clean power through Sunsure. He said the agreement strengthens the company’s position as a preferred renewable energy partner in Uttar Pradesh and aligns with its broader ‘UP Shakti’ initiative to expand green energy infrastructure across the state.

Bisleri International CEO Angelo George said the collaboration is a significant milestone under the company’s sustainability roadmap, the Bisleri Greener Promise. He emphasised that sourcing nearly half of the Sahibabad plant’s electricity from solar energy not only reduces emissions but also ensures long-term cost efficiency and energy reliability.

The agreement follows Sunsure’s ongoing expansion in Uttar Pradesh, where it has recently commissioned its 10th solar plant. With this, Sunsure’s total operational open-access capacity in the state has crossed 260 MWp, supplying renewable power to sectors including FMCG, data centres, ceramics, and metals.

The partnership underscores the growing momentum among Indian manufacturers to integrate renewable energy into their operations and advance their decarbonisation goals.
