Jin Navitas Electric Corporation (JNEC), the retail supply arm of SOLARIS, has secured its first customer under the government’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) through a newly signed Retail Electricity Supply Agreement (RESA) with Ateneo de Manila University.
The ceremonial signing gathered officials from JNEC, Ateneo, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and partner firms SolX Technologies and the Joy~Nostalg Group.
Ateneo Becomes JNEC’s First RAP Customer
JNEC President Jose Alfonso Miras described the agreement as a significant milestone, noting that while the RESA formally spans two years, the company sees the arrangement as the start of a long-term partnership.
“This marks an important milestone for JNEC, as Ateneo becomes our first customer under the Retail Aggregation Program,” Miras said during the signing.
Ateneo To Be Powered by Renewable Energy
Under the deal, a substantial share of the university’s electricity requirements will be sourced from clean energy generated by SOLARIS. Ateneo is already receiving renewable power from the SOLARIS NING*NING rooftop solar project in Naic, Cavite — a grid-connected, utility-scale solar installation built atop a socialized housing development.
The NING*NING project, developed jointly by the Joy~Nostalg Group–SOLARIS and Raemulan Lands, Inc., has earned global recognition and was recently visited by the President of the Philippines.
JNEC said the partnership will help Ateneo reduce its carbon footprint while supporting the Joy~Nostalg Group’s social mission of “powering the powerless and homing the homeless.”
Government and Industry Representatives Attend Signing
The ceremony was attended by Ateneo de Manila University President Fr. Roberto “Bobby” Yap, SJ; Vice President for Administration Rodolfo Ang; ERC representative Katerielle Cedeno; SolX Technologies CEO Sergious Angelo Santos; and Joy~Nostalg Group Executive Officer Jacinto Ng Jr.
The agreement marks the latest milestone under the RAP initiative, which aims to expand consumer access to competitively priced and renewable electricity through aggregated power procurement.
