Wood Mackenzie, a leading global provider of energy and natural resources data and analytics, has announced the appointment of Danny Dunn as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective December 1, 2025.
Dunn brings over 25 years of experience in driving go-to-market strategies across the data, software, and technology sectors. He joins the company from Morningstar, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer, overseeing global commercial operations for its investment data, research, ratings, analytics, and software business.
Before his tenure at Morningstar, Dunn spent more than eight years at IBM in senior commercial and executive roles across sales, marketing, and services, working across the company’s software, cloud, systems, and services portfolio.
Jason Liu, CEO of Wood Mackenzie, said Dunn’s leadership will play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s commercial capabilities. “Danny brings world-class commercial experience to Wood Mackenzie. He’s scaled global SaaS and data businesses to multi-billion-dollar growth, built exceptional teams, and led major transformation efforts that drive lasting impact for customers. His appointment reflects our focus on deepening client relationships and accelerating our path to growth,” Liu stated.
