Leading PV manufacturer JinkoSolar has announced that its high-efficiency advanced cell based on TOPCon technology has achieved a certified maximum conversion efficiency of 27.79%, according to Germany’s ISFH. The company claims this is its 31st world record in cell efficiency or module power. JinkoSolar attributes the latest breakthrough to its new passivated contact architecture, ultra-low optical parasitic absorption, and next-generation metallization processes.
Also, the company recently held a mass-production launch ceremony for its new-generation TigerNeo 3.0 module series. According to JinkoSolar, the product reaches a mass-production efficiency of over 24.8%, delivers up to 670 W of power, and offers a bifaciality of up to 90%. The company claims it has signed 15 GW of contracts for these modules.
In June, Jinko had announced that its 182 mm n-type monocrystalline silicon TOPCon cell achieved a certified full-area conversion efficiency of 27.02%.
Last month, JinkoSolar signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with DKEM, aiming to collaborate on technological innovation for high-efficiency solar cell metallization paste and on low-silver/silver-free metallization technologies for solar cells.
