PureSky Energy announced that two new community solar farms, Tamarac Solar in Troy, NY, and Green Dale Solar in Schodack, NY, are now fully operational, delivering clean and affordable energy exclusively to Low- to Moderate-Income (LMI) households. Both projects are enrolled in New York Stateโ€™s Expanded Solar for All (ESFA) program, which ensures that the benefits of renewable energy reach the communities that need them most.

Together, the two solar farms have a combined capacity of over 14 MWdc, generating approximately 20.1 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to power nearly 2,900 homes while avoiding an estimated 29 million pounds of COโ‚‚ emissions each year. By participating fully in the ESFA program, PureSky guarantees immediate energy savings for thousands of income-qualified households, supporting both energy equity and New Yorkโ€™s broader clean energy goals.

Tamarac Solar, located in Troy, NY, has a capacity of 7.3 MWdc with 13,338 solar panels, producing around 10.3 million kWh annually and powering approximately 1,417 homes. Green Dale Solar in Schodack, NY, has a capacity of 7.0 MWdc with 12,900 panels, generating about 9.8 million kWh annually and serving roughly 1,360 homes. Over a 30-year period, the projects are expected to deliver around $6.8 million in energy savings to participating households. Beyond cost savings, the solar farms will also contribute to local communities through new tax revenue, job creation, pollinator-friendly land management, and education and outreach programs for schools and community organizations coordinated by Eden Renewables.

The projects were developed in partnership with Eden Renewables, a Troy-based company committed to creating renewable energy projects that maximize social and environmental benefits while remaining deeply connected to local communities. Nicholas Topping, Vice President of Community Solar at PureSky Energy, noted that Tamarac and Green Dale exemplify how community solar can make the clean energy transition more inclusive, providing guaranteed energy savings for income-eligible families while building on the success of earlier initiatives like the Clover Meadow project in Claverack. Giovanni Maruca, Chief Development Officer at Eden Renewables, highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in delivering projects that bring lasting savings and resilience to households that need them most.
