DEWA and Italian Delegation Discuss Enhanced Cooperation in Clean Energy and Innovation

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), held a meeting with HE Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, and HE Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, to explore strengthened cooperation in sustainability, clean energy and innovation.

During the meeting, Al Tayer welcomed the Italian representatives and emphasised the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Italy. He reaffirmed DEWAโ€™s commitment to collaborating with Italian companies and global partners to advance knowledge exchange and adopt leading practices and modern technologies in clean energy, sustainability and the circular economy.

Al Tayer also outlined DEWAโ€™s ongoing projects and strategic initiatives aimed at supporting national sustainability goals and advancing the green economy. He highlighted the authorityโ€™s investment in energy storage solutions and smart grid systems, including the deployment of smart meters and artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and ensure reliable energy supply.

The Italian officials praised Dubaiโ€™s progress in advancing renewable energy and acknowledged DEWAโ€™s role as a key driver of sustainable transformation in the region. They expressed interest in deepening partnerships to accelerate innovation and collaboration across priority sectors.

The meeting aligns with ongoing efforts to support the UAEโ€™s clean energy transition and expand international cooperation in renewable technologies.
