Desert Technologies (DT), a Saudi Arabiaโbased renewable energy company, has signed a supply agreement with global photovoltaic manufacturer Astronergy for the procurement of 13 MWp of high-efficiency N-Type solar modules. The modules will be deployed in a flagship solar project located in the Kingdomโs Northern Region.
The agreement was formally signed by Eng. Mohammed Jamal Baagiel, General Manager โ Delivery at Desert Technologies, and Mr. Lin He, General Manager at Astronergy. The partnership represents a significant step in strengthening Saudi Arabiaโs clean energy value chain and advancing the countryโs renewable energy deployment efforts.
The project aligns with Saudi Arabiaโs Vision 2030 objectives, which aim to accelerate the transition towards a diversified and sustainable energy mix. The integration of Astronergyโs advanced N-Type photovoltaic technology is expected to enhance overall system efficiency, lower the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE), and improve long-term energy reliability in the northern region, where climatic conditions pose operational challenges for solar assets.
Through the collaboration, Desert Technologies continues to reinforce its position as a leading EPC and clean energy developer in the Kingdom, while Astronergy contributes its expertise in high-performance PV module manufacturing. Both companies indicated that the agreement marks the beginning of a broader strategic relationship, with plans to expand the deployment of advanced solar technologies across commercial and industrial (C&I), utility-scale, and distributed generation segments.
Commenting on the development, Eng. Mohammed Jamal Baagiel said the agreement underscores DTโs commitment to delivering high-quality solar solutions in line with Vision 2030. He added that partnering with Astronergy enables the company to deploy cutting-edge technologies that support Saudi Arabiaโs green energy transition.
Mr. Lin He stated that Astronergy values DTโs confidence in its TOPCon-based N-Type module technology. He noted that Saudi Arabiaโs renewable energy market holds significant growth potential under Vision 2030 and expressed Astronergyโs intent to work closely with DT to advance solar energy development in the Kingdom.
The 13 MWp module supply is expected to ensure robust performance under harsh environmental conditions, supporting Desert Technologiesโ broader mission to accelerate the adoption of bankable and efficient solar technologies across Saudi Arabia. Further updates are expected as the project progresses into subsequent phases.
