The Local Governing Board of the Jerez de la Frontera City Council in Cรกdiz has initiated the installation of rooftop photovoltaic systems with a combined capacity of 194.18 kWp across five municipal buildings, marking a significant step towards reducing municipal energy consumption and costs.

The project, initially tendered with a budget of โ‚ฌ210,283.96, has been awarded to energy company Naturgy for โ‚ฌ42,056.81. Under the contract, the solar installations are expected to generate a total of 1,164 MWh of electricity over a five-year period. The City Council noted that the contract could be concluded earlier if the total kilowatt-hour consumption outlined in the technical specifications is reached ahead of schedule.

All five photovoltaic systems will operate under a self-consumption model without surplus injection into the grid. The installed peak capacity will be distributed across the selected municipal facilities as follows: 26.40 kWp at the Bus Station, 52.80 kWp at the Police Station, 54.486 kWp at the Chapรญn Sports Palace, 29.70 kWp at the Josรฉ Laguillo swimming pool, and 30.80 kWp at the Manuel Mestre swimming pool.
