CEAT, one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, has partnered with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited to source renewable energy for its manufacturing facilities in Halol, Gujarat, and Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Under a group captive model, the partnership will utilize a hybrid wind–solar project with a total capacity of approximately 59 MW. CleanMax, a Brookfield-backed company, is India’s largest renewable energy provider for the commercial and industrial sector as of July 2025 and specializes in net-zero and decarbonization solutions.

The hybrid design of the project combines wind and solar power, allowing for more consistent energy generation and a higher plant load factor. This complementary approach also enhances grid stability, which is essential for energy-intensive manufacturing operations like tyre production. Together, the projects are expected to generate around 13.58 crore units of clean electricity annually. This is anticipated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1,00,000 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to planting nearly 4.5 million trees. As a result, CEAT’s clean energy content is expected to reach around 60 percent of its total energy consumption.

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director of CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions, said that the collaboration with CEAT supports the tyre manufacturer’s sustainability objectives by enabling decarbonization across its key manufacturing hubs. He added that this partnership demonstrates how well-structured renewable energy initiatives can accelerate adoption of clean power and contribute to a more sustainable energy future for large-scale industrial operations.

Roopesh R., Senior Vice President – Procurement at CEAT, emphasized that the partnership strengthens the company’s renewable energy footprint in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. He noted that sustainability is central to CEAT’s long-term strategy, which already includes initiatives such as green sourcing, sustainable transportation, biodegradable packaging, and low-emission manufacturing and distribution. Integrating this hybrid wind–solar energy project aligns naturally with CEAT’s broader sustainability journey.

The projects are also expected to bring cost efficiencies at CEAT’s major manufacturing facilities while helping the company produce tyres with a lower carbon footprint. By leveraging CleanMax’s expertise in delivering renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sector, CEAT aims to enhance energy security, improve operational efficiency, and achieve significant annual reductions in carbon emissions, further advancing its long-term goal of net-zero operations.
